MTG Arena Codes: Complete List – Updated June 2024 (2024)

The easiest way to get free booster packs, cards, experience points, and cosmetics on Arena is with MTG Arena codes.

It can be hard to find all available free MTG Arena codes in one place. That’s why we compiled them all in this article. You’ll find all currently active codes below. Be sure to check back regularly for new MTG Arena promo codes!

NEWEST CODE: On June 11th, 2024 new set, Modern Horizons 3 is releasing on Arena. (You can find the exact time of MH3 Arena release here.) Most likely you’ll receive 3 free Modern Horizons 3 Packs at the release, delivered directly to your in-game inbox, but if there will be a code, you’ll be able to find it below.

MTG Arena Pack Codes

First up, we’re starting with MTG Arena codes for free packs. You can find all of them in a table below. If you didn’t use any of these codes, you’re getting 21 free Packs. Hopefully, you’ll get some useful cards in these, as well as some Wildcards.

The free packs from the newer sets will be automatically added to your in-game inbox.

Prerelease Code Change

You can also claim up to 30 Packs by using codes from Modern Horizons 3 prerelease packs. With previous sets, you could only use one code for 6 packs, but now you can use a total of five codes per account. This gives you a total of 30 packs total.

If you didn’t play in that many prereleases, you can still buy the codes from MTGACodes.com. This will typically be a better purchase, than buying Gems in store, then purchasing packs.

Experience Codes

As you might already know, you earn experience points (XP) from quests and weekly wins. These experience points progress your mastery level, which offers various in-game rewards. You can also gain XP by using certain MTGA codes.

Most of these code typically expire quickly. Thus, there’s just one such code available currently.

Cosmetics Codes

While there are no foil cards available on MTG Arena, you can still bling your decks with cosmetics (skins) for cards, and with special sleeves.

There used to be around ten or so codes for borderless cards, such as these Llanowar Elves. Additionally, one could get alternate art sleeves (for example there were Strixhaven sleeves). Currently, there are multiple cosmetic codes available, which will also net you some XP. These were a part of riddle solutions for Murders at Karlov Manor.

An Unusual Code

On February 14, 2024 there was a special reward that you can redeem for 5,000 XP and special card sleeves. However, the way to get these is a bit convoluted. First copy the following decklist by clicking on it:

Then import it to your decks on Arena, and name the deck “thewayisopen”. Afterward, the rewards will appear in your in-game inbox.

MTG Arena Codes from Paper Products

Here’s one more thing that you should know. Some MTG products include a code which you can redeem on Arena. This is a great option, if you’re playing both paper and digital Magic. After all, which MTG player doesn’t like a clean two for one?

However, not all paper products come with a MTGA code. Typically, you’ll be able to find them in the following product types:

• Starter Kits
• Prerelease Packs
• Secret Lair
• Planeswalker Decks (retired product, with expired codes)

Keep in mind that codes in products are unique. Therefore, you can only redeem them once, so we can’t provide them here. We’ll take a look at all the products, so you’ll know if there’s one that’s right for you.

But what if you aren’t that interested in paper cards that much? Well, there’s another way to get those codes – without buying the paper product. Let’s first take a look at that option, then we’ll examine the Starter Kits, Prerelease Packs, and all else.

Buying Arena Codes

You can avoid purchasing paper products by buying MTGA Arena codes. With some products, such as specific sleeves, that might be the only way of acquiring them. Furthermore, this is a fine way of obtaining packs with a discount. (Unless you’re playing in a paper prerelease.)

Of course, you don’t want to buy the code from anyone, in order to avoid scams. You can’t check if a code is working before you buy it. It would be possible for someone to sell a non-working code to you. With that in mind, we recommend buying codes from trusted sources only.

As mentioned before, our favorite store is MTGAcodes.com. They offer a wide selection of Arena codes, including Secret Lair, which can be pretty hard to get otherwise. But most importantly they’re safe to buy from.

You can browse among codes from Starter Kits, Welcome boosters, Prerelease Packs, Secret Lairs, and so on. If that seems interesting to you, go check them out. Perhaps they have one of their great sales available right now.

Starter Kits

Okay, now to actual paper products. The first one is an absolutely amazing product for an affordable price. We’re talking about the Starter kits.

Each Starter Kit contains:

• 2 different ready-to-play 60-card decks (with multiple rares)
• 2 cardboard deck boxes
• reference cards
• MTG Arena code (redeemable twice)

So, you and your friend can start playing using only this product. While better for casual play, the two decks are quite balanced to play against one another. You can also use this as a self-contained board game. Especially, the one above, which uses the iconic characters and locations from Lord of the Rings.

This can be a a perfect way to play with a friend who stopped playing, and doesn’t have any decks anymore. Or you could use the deck to teach someone who doesn’t play Magic yet.

Oh, and of course, both you and another player can use the included code to recieve a copy of both decks on Arena

All in all, Starter Kits are certainly great products for new player. Here’s a list of all of them, order from the oldest to the newest:

*This one is only redeemable once, while the others are usable on two different accounts.

With these Starter Kits, it’s usually the best option to go for the newer ones, since the codes from the older ones might’ve expired already.

MTG Arena Prerelease Codes

Prerelease is a tabletop MTG tournament, where you get the first chance to play with cards in paper. Why should an Arena player care about those? Well, they’re the most fun MTG events, for sure. Besides that, you’ll also get a unique MTGA code!

So what does this code give you? Well, it depends on which set it’s from.

Guilds of Ravnica code gave you a free Sealed event, while Ravnica Allegiance provided a Draft Token. Newer prerelease kits give you 6 packs of the respective set.

A code from a certain prerelease can only be used once. That means if you’ve been to two Murders at Karlov Manor prereleases, you can only use one of the MTG Arena promo codes. From Outlaws of Thunder Junction forward, there’s been a big change, allowing you to use up to five prerelease codes per account. That’s also true for the latest set, Modern Horizons 3.

If you decide to play at the prerelease, contact your local game store. The dates below should give you some info on when to expect the upcoming tournaments – but the exact date may vary from store to store.

Prerelease Kits from War of the Spark onward contain a code for 6 Packs from the respective set. Of course, you’ll also receive a code in your Modern Horizons 3 prerelease kit.

If you don’t like to play in real-life events but would still like to get a code and some paper cards, you can buy a Prerelease Kit online. Just be careful – don’t get an old Kit before Guilds of Ravnica, as there is no code in older ones.

Secret Lair Arena Codes

You might’ve encountered some opponents with cool-looking sleeves, which weren’t available in Arena Store. In that case, they might’ve bought the Secret Lair. That’s a special Magic the Gathering product, which is distributed in so-called Drops.

Each drop features strong cards from Magic’s past with alternate (usually pretty crazy) art style, focused on a specific theme. Some of them also contain a code, which you can redeem for Arena sleeves – with art that appears on a card from the Drop.

For example, here’s a sleeve you could get from the Secret Lair: Year of the Rat.

Secret Lairs are only available on Wizards’ Store for a limited amount of time, so it’s easy to miss them. Thankfully, you can still acquire most of these in the previously mentioned MTGAcodes.com shop.

Planeswalker Decks

Before we start to wrap up, here’s one final product we need to mention. The Planeswalker decks are predecessors of the Starter decks. These were also meant for beginners, who are still learning the game.

While these also came with an Arena code, they codes don’t work anymore. So, don’t go buying these in hopes of receiving a code. Sure, you’d still open one, but it wouldn’t do you much good, as it already expired.

How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes on PC?

Redeeming MTG Arena codes is easy. Follow these steps to redeem codes:

1. On the home screen, click Store on the top bar.
2. In the top right corner, you’ll see Redeem Code window.
3. Enter the MTGA promo code there. You should correctly use uppercase and lowercase. If a code doesn’t work, try using all uppercase letters. If you get a Redeem Code Failure message, this either means that you misspelled the code or that the code has expired.
4. Press Enter.
5. Enjoy your free stuff!

How to Redeem MTG Arena Codes on Mobile?

On the mobile version on MTG Arena, the process is a bit different. You won’t be able to enter the code directly in the app, instead you’ll need to go to the myaccounts.wizards.com website. Then follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your account. (Use your MTGA login information.)
2. On the right side, you’ll see Redeem Code window.
3. Enter the MTGA promo code there. Once again, pay attention to uppercase and lowercase.
4. PressRedeem.
5. If you’ve entered a code successfully, you’ll see a confirmation message.
6. Go to the MTG Arena app and click on theStoretab. There you’ll receive your free Packs, experience points, etc.
